Brewing Perfection: A Beginner's Guide to Using the Aeropress Coffee Maker
Dec 25, 2022
-
Begin by heating up water to the desired temperature. A good starting point is around 90-95 degrees, but you can adjust this to your personal preference.
-
While the water is heating up, grind your coffee beans to a medium-fine consistency. You will need about 17 grams of coffee for a standard Aeropress recipe, but you can adjust this to your personal preference.
-
Once the water is heated, attach the plunger to the Aeropress chamber and place the chamber on top of a mug.
-
Add the ground coffee to the chamber and shake it gently to level the grounds.
-
Slowly pour the hot water over the grounds, making sure to wet all of the grounds evenly. Start with about twice as much water as you have coffee (i.e. 34 grams of water for 17 grams of coffee), and adjust to your personal preference.
-
Stir the mixture for about 10-15 seconds to ensure that all of the grounds are evenly saturated with water.
-
Once the coffee has brewed for the desired amount of time (usually about 1-2 minutes), attach the plunger to the chamber and push down slowly and steadily until you hear a hissing sound. This indicates that all of the water has been pressed through the coffee grounds and into your mug.
-
Carefully remove the Aeropress from the mug and enjoy your perfectly brewed cup of coffee!
